A letter to Parents
from former NHL Player and PG Key co-founder
Paul Ranheim
As a 15 year veteran of the NHL, I’ve always believed that playing good hockey
meant being prepared by training smart, having an understanding of the game and
its rules and using the right equipment to perform well and keep safe.
Has it occurred to you that these same basic principals are also true when it
comes to our children’s use of the home PC?
When my kids (8 and 11) started using the computer in our house for school and
fun I knew I had to do something. Just taking a computer out of a box and
letting my kids use it without any protection felt like the wrong thing to do.
A little research proved that my instincts were correct. The internet poses
many threats to our kids and those threats are much more than the exposure
they get to inappropriate material. Children and teens post information about
themselves, download programs that can steal personal information, and engage in
conversations with people who may not be who they say they are. And much of the
time, they don’t realize that they are doing anything wrong!
A close friend of mine told me about a new product that was in the beginning
stages of being developed and I immediately got involved as a partner.
This new product, PG Key, is truly a breakthrough for parents. It’s a
very simple to use key, that plugs into any USB port. Once installed, PG Key
provides the 3 essential areas of protection that the experts consistently
advise.
1) It’s a key. PG Key must be in for the child or teen to use the computer and
parents can load time on PG Key just like on a cell phone
2) When PG Key is in, 10 essential parental controls are activated like site
blocking, web filtering and danger notifications.
3) PG Key records 60 hours of computer use so that parents can review and teach
responsible use of technology and kids know their parents aren’t shut out of
their online world.
We created PG Key to be so simple to install, that any mom, dad or grandparent
(no matter what level of technical skill) can plug it in, and within seconds
have peace of mind that their kids are safer online.
Responsible parenting in today’s world must include a game plan to
deal with the technology in your home.
Even if your concerns about the dangers are small, you know you have to
do something. There’s no easier way to address even the small concerns
you have (your kids friends that come over for instance!) than simply plugging
in PG Key.
I use PG Key in my home and no longer worry that my kids are being left alone in
what most consider a very dangerous place.
I know from talking to some of the thousands of other parents that have already
done so, that you’ll feel the same way from the moment you plug PG Key in.
I want you to use PG Key in your home, so I’m offering you the chance to try it
absolutely free for 30 days.
If you don’t feel the sense of relief and peace of mind that you’ve done the
right thing, just send it back, no questions asked and you pay nothing.
When your child or teen plays Hockey (or any sport), you make sure they learn
the rules, practice the skills and play safe.
PG Key allows you to apply those great parenting skills to your kid’s
online world.
Thank you,
Paul Ranheim
